Our Network Director

The Liberti Network of churches enters its 13th year in 2015. And by God’s grace, what started as one church in one neighborhood is now six churches in six neighborhoods with two new church plants in the works.

A little more than a year ago, recognizing the need to centralize and spearhead our efforts to see more churches planted, the network leadership team appointed Steve Huber as our network director.

The choice was a clear one for many reasons. Along with Geoff Bradford, Steve is a founding pastor of the Liberti Churches and is the human reason the name is spelled wrong (the latin way). But as our network grows, we wanted to take the opportunity to introduce our whole family of churches to our network director. So here you go…

Steve Huber hails from the village of New Bedford in western PA, which is officially in the middle of nowhere. Steve became mesmerized by both the opportunity and needs of city life while in Chicago at Wheaton College, which he graduated from in 1992.

He met his wife, Christine, while they were both employed at Bethanna Children’s home in Southampton, PA. Since 1993, Steve and Christine have lived in or just outside the city of Philadelphia. Steve graduated from Westminster Theological Seminary in 1997 and moved to the Fairmount neighborhood to begin Liberti Church in the summer of 2002.

Steve, Christine and their three children live in the Northern Liberties neighborhood of Philadelphia. And in addition to serving as Network Director, Steve serves as the Lead Pastor of Liberti Church East. Steve likes to read a lot, wishes his mountain bike had better shocks, and has been experimenting with different kinds of facial hair for the better part of 25 years.

Steve has recently re-emerged on Twitter with a commitment to keep you up-to-speed on all things Liberti. (You can see his latest tweets on the right hand side of this page).
